Make your own homemade Mocktails.

Who says you cannot enjoy a party or a pleasant time at home with some of your homemade non-alcoholic mocktails. Perhaps, you might even have a better time with a few fresh and tangy drinks that are both beneficial to your health and incredibly tasty. Here’s the best part about it all. With only a few off-the-shelf ingredients, my Cola, Sri Lanka’s very own beverage, make you friends and family a refreshing surprise. You will also need a cocktail shaker; if you don’t have on, a sealable bottle should do the job. Alright, let’s get to it; here are a few mocktails you can make at home with your favourite soda. Let’s go!

The Mango Mule

What’s better than a chilled mango on a hot day? A chilled mango mule that is every bit refreshing and healthy. You will need:

But remember, it is not as simple as mixing the ingredients. You have to be intentional about it. First pulp a few cucumber slices and honey syrup into the cocktail shaker. Now pour in the mango puree and lime juice. Close the lid and shake vigorously, with everything you can. This is honestly the most enjoyable part of making homemade mocktails. Then, pour it in a glass and top it off with MGB and stir gently. Voila! Enjoy your mango mule!

A Subtle Mint Cooler

The best time to make your homemade mocktails is, obviously, the summer. There are a few warm drinks for the winter, but most people are not fond of them. This brings us to the minty stage of our mocktail adventures. Here’s what you’ll need:

With your ingredients set, it’s time to begin! Combine the coconut water, cucumber, lime juice and mint leaves in a pitcher and let it cool in your fridge for about 3-4 hours. That’s it! Once it’s chilled, pour a glass or two for you and your family and enjoy a minty mocktail.

A Classic Lime Cola

We have come to the last of our mocktail adventures with one of the classics. This is where a better-preferred soda flavour and the flair of a bartender meet. With just two simple ingredients, here’s how you make Lime Cola. You will need:

Lime colas are usually made to taste. If you prefer the tang, then more lime and vice versa. It is as simple as mixing the ingredients and enjoying a modest glass of Lime Cola.
